Dating fender amps silverface
Silly me , I just published a link on how to date your Fender amp and I just went and dated y Deluxe Reverb ! It sounds great and so I have decided not to mess with what was a factory Mistake/ Change/ Customisation? This one is an odd amplifier because when I decided to start on the restoraton, I noted that the circuitry was not pure Silverface but a blend of Blackface and Silverface.Amps from the silverface era, which have a silver faceplate, were manufactured from 1968 to 1982.In 1992, Fender began producing the '65 Reissue Twin Reverb. According to Fender, amplifiers produced through 1969 have a sticker near the tubes. The fist Master volume controls were first installed in 72.The raised “Fender” grille logo lost its tail around 76.Remember, many components could have been changed over the years, speakers blow, caps dry out, transformers melt down, and pots wear out.
If possible, open up the chassis and check a few of the pots’ and capacitors’ manufacturer codes.
Has anyone else seen this cocktail of factory circuitry before?
